Getting to Know Pastor Sheldon Lacsina

Pastor Sheldon Lacsina was born on O’ahu and grew up in Waimanalo. The son of a single mother, Sheldon grew up quickly. He is able to apply many of the life lessons he has learned along the way as he shares timely messages with the New Hope family.

Pastor Sheldon moved to the Big Island in 1990. While living here he was invited to attend a church in town that held its services at the Hilo Boy’s and Girls Club. While sitting in the service on a Father’s Day shortly thereafter, Sheldon heard a message that impacted his life and gave his heart to Jesus. He began serving in the youth ministry in 1992 and joined the staff shortly thereafter in 1996.

It was during his tenure serving our youth that Pastor Alex Pacheco recognized that Sheldon would one day succeed him as Senior Pastor of New Hope Christian Fellowship. On Wednesday, April 29, 2009, Pastor Sheldon was officially installed as the senior pastor of New Hope.

Sheldon and his wife Heidi live in Kea’au along with their son Jordan. Another son, Justin lives in Hilo along with his wife.
